Men's Basketball Slated Fifth in OAC Preseason Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team has been slated fifth in the 2018-19 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Heading the poll is John Carroll University who totaled 79 points, with seven first place votes. Coming in at second is Marietta College with 75 total points, and three first place votes. The following two spots were filled by Ohio Northern University with 59 points, and the University of Mount Union with 54. After finishing second in last year's poll, BW will round out the top five this year with 50 points.

Head Coach Tom Heil enters his fourth season at BW and returns seven letterwinners, as well as one All-OAC selection. In his first three seasons he has posted a 49-33 career mark, after finishing last year with an 18-9 overall record and 11-7 in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets claimed their spot in the OAC tournament for the seventh consecutive season and defeated Mount Union in the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals before falling to John Carroll in the Semifinals. 

BW's first game of the season will be on the road against Alfred (N.Y.) State on Saturday, November 10. They will open up OAC play with an away game against Mount Union on November 27.
