BEREA, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time Academic All-OAC Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) was named to the 2019 D3hoops.com's All-Great Lakes Region team for the first time in his career.
Battle was one of four OAC players to be named to the 2019 All-Great Lakes Region team.
A first-team All-OAC selection, Battle was slated in at the second team All-Great Lakes Region team after a senior campaign where he earned Most Valuable Player in the OAC Tournament and scored in double-figures in 29-of-30 games, including four 30-point performances and nine 20-point outings.
In the OAC Championship game, Battle sunk 7-of-8 three-pointers en route to a career-high 33-point performance and the first title for BW since 2006.
The guard scored a career-high 547 points (18.2 ppg) in 2018-19, good for third in the OAC and ranks 11th on BW's All-Time Scoring List with 1, 548 points. He also set career-high in rebounds with 120 (4.0 rpg) and marked 91 assists (3.0 apg), with a career-best nine assists against John Carroll on Feb. 6.
