NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team claimed their first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 74-67 triumph over Muskingum University, inside the Anne C. Steele Center.

Leading BW (4-2, 1-1 OAC) offensively with a career-high 20 points, was junior Academic All-OAC forward Jack Lostoski (Uniontown/Lake). Lostoski shot 7-11 from the field and 6-9 from deep, while also grabbing seven boards, one assist, steal, and block. The Yellow Jackets backcourt members of senior two-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC guard Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) and Academic All-OAC guard Michael Quiring (Brunswick), recorded 19 and 14 points respectively.

Muskingum jumped out the gates with a seven to nothing run, but was answered with an eight to zero run by BW, capped off with a three from Battle at the 16:57 mark. The two squads then traded the lead six times, until a tie at 19 was made with 11 minutes left. BW then established their largest lead of the contest at 6:42 with a 16-5 run, and would go into intermission with a 38-34 lead.

Muskingum came out of the half with a seven to zero run to claim a three point lead. The Yellow Jackets stopped the bleeding after an offensive rebound from senior guard Kyle Nader (Vermilion) and put back to bring BW to within one with 15 minutes left in regulation. Nader's hustle play sparked a 17-3 run and put BW up by 11 with 9:35 left to play. The Muskies diminished the lead to two but a Battle three at 1:40 pushed BW ahead by five, and 8-of-12 made free throws would close out the game for the Yellow Jackets.

BW shot 25-67 (37%) from the field and 12-32 (38%) from behind the arc, while outrebounding Muskingum 44-33. The Yellow Jackets totaled 14 assists and eight turnovers with 11 points off turnovers. The bench was vital in the victory, as BW recorded 31 points to Muskingum's 18.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday December, 8 when they travel to Marietta, Ohio to take on the Marietta Pioneers at 3 p.m.
