WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Junior forward Drew Sova's (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) double-double led the Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team to an 82-62 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Otterbein University in the regular season finale, at the Rike Center.

The Yellow Jackets have now defeated the Cardinals in eight straight regualar season games and four straight in Westerville.

BW's (17-8, 11-7 OAC) Sova led the game in points (16) and rebounds (12) for his fourth double-double this year. Also in double-figures was sophomore guard Matthew Dimitrijevs (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) who marked 13. Senior guard Kyle Nader (Vermilion) poured in 11 points with six rebounds while two-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC guard Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) tallied 10.

Otterbein (6-19, 3-15 OAC) had two in double figures, led by sophomore guard Justin Carter who scored 12 points and senior guard Andre Bradley contributed with 10.

BW established a 15-9 lead in the first five minutes of the game, which included ties at two, five and seven. Junior guard Zach Cebula (Brunswick) gave the Yellow Jackets their first double-digit advantage of 26-15, with a drive through the lane for a layup at the ten minute mark, capping off a 14-6 run. Continuing their hot shooting, BW went on a 12-9 run over the next six minutes to bring the score to 38-24 with 4:11 remaining in the first.  Both teams' defenses tightened up as a neither team would score for nearly two and a half minutes, until a trey from Dimitrijevs, assisted by junior Academic All-OAC forward Jack Lostoski (Uniontown/Lake) at 1:54 broke the scoring drought. BW closed the half on a 7-3 spurt and went into intermission ahead 48-27. BW outrebounded Otterbein 22-15 in the first half and had eight assists to the Cardinals two.

The Yellow Jacket lead of 21 remained the same six minutes into the second half, as BW led the Cardinals 62-41 with 13:45 left to play. Otterbein cut it to 72-56 at 6:52 with a layup from junior guard Austin Springer. 16 was the smallest deficit the Yellow Jackets allowed and BW closed out the final minutes with a 10-6 run to seal the 82-62 victory.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Wilmington College on Tuesday, February 19 for the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
