After King's cut the lead to 15-13, the Yellow Jackets regained their five-point lead at 18-13 with 7:59 remaining in the first stanza when senior guard Brandon Schmidt (Wellington) hit a three-pointer on an assist from Payne. The Schmidt triple started a trend as both Crowe and Krakowiak sandwiched triples around a Monarch basket to extend BW's lead to 24-15 with 5:45 left.  A layup by senior forward Sean Rothermel (Delaware/ Hayes) increased the lead to 26-15 with 5:13 left.  After King's ended BW's 11-2 run with a hoop, Rothermel scored two more field goals to give the Yellow Jackets a 30-17 halftime advantage.
