BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin Wallace University junior men's basketball shooting guard Kevin Krakowiak (Valley City/Holy Name) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the third time in his career that the All-OAC standout has earned this honor, including the second time this season.

The award covers from December 17, 2012 until tonight's OAC games, including the BW at Otterbein University game in Westerville at the Rike Center at 7:30 p.m.  Fans can listen to tonight's game locally on campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, or on the Internet at www.bwyellowjackets.com.

To win his third OAC award, Krakowiak scored 52 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets compiled a 3-0 record. He helped BW beat Olivet (Mich.) College, 94-79, on December 17 in Berea, the University of Mount Union, 80-71, on Dec. 20 in Berea and King's College, 74-57, on Dec. 29 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  In the three wins, he averaged 17.3 points and 4.3 rebounds-per-game. He connected on 17-of-39 field goals for 43 percent, including 9-of-19 three-pointers for 48%, and 9-of-10 foul shots for 90%. Krakowiak, who is second on the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg., also contributed eight assists, four steals and six blocked shots.

Krakowiak previously won the OAC Player of the Week award this season on November 19, 2012 for his efforts in an 80-75 home victory against then No.25-ranked Bethany (W.Va.) College. In that game, he made a school-record-tying eight three-pointers and scored 30 total points. He also earned the honor last season when he scored a career-high 31 points in a win against OAC-rival Heidelberg University and was instrumental in another victory against Wilmington College.

Entering tonight's game at Otterbein, Krakowiak is second in scoring at 15.8 ppg., grabs a career-high 4.2 rpg. and tops the team with 26 three-pointers.  He also has scored 742 career points, 170 rebounds, 100 three-pointers, 86 assists, 47 steals and 21 blocked shots.

Following its game at Otterbein, BW is home this Saturday, Jan. 5 versus Marietta College in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center at 3:00 p.m. BW remains home to play OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m..
