Kyle Payne Selected OAC Player-of-the-Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference junior forward Kyle Payne (Brunswick) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week for his performance during the Week of January 14-20, 2013.

Payne earned the third OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award of his career for scoring 41 points and grabbing 15 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets stretched their winning streak to 10 straight games as they beat Heidelberg University (75-65) and then beat OAC-leader Capital Universit (79-67). He also passed for two assists.

He scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds in the triumph at Heidelberg. In that game, Payne became the 37th player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point mark for a career. In the win versus Capital, he had a game-high 17 points, two assists, a rebound and made 7-of-11 floor shots, including a three-pointer, and a had two free throws. 

Payne leads BW in both scoring at 17.4 points-per-game and rebounding at 6.4 rpg. During his last five games, he is averaging 20.6 ppg. The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Wednesday, Jan. 23 when they travel to Ada to play Ohio Northern University at 7:30 p.m.
