Gill and Watts Named Athletic Communications Graduate Assistants

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletic Communications Jeff Miller '96 has announced that Noah Gill and Jelani Watts have been named as Athletic Communication Graduate Assistants.

Gill and Watts will assist Miller as well as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Mary vonKronenberger and student-assistants with media relations efforts for BW's 28 intercollegiate teams. In addition, the duo will help operate and produce the athletic video board and media production on the video scoreboards in Finnie Stadium and Ursprung Gymnasium.  

Gill, a native of Beach City, Ohio, comes to BW after earning a Bachelor of Arts in sport management from Bethany (W. Va.) College this past May.  While at Bethany, he was a student-assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications for four years.  Gill assisted with the statistical coverage for all sports and assisted with the set up at all athletic facilities and live streams.  He was a member of the Bison football team.  He also worked at the 2022 DNCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship as well as the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

In addition, Gill has been a ballpark operations assistant for the Pittsburgh Pirates and a promotions assistant with the Akron RubberDucks.

Watts, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, comes to Berea after earning a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and media studies from the University of Nevada Las Vegas this past May.  While at UNLV, he served as an Athletic Communications intern this semester.  Watts wrote event previews, feature stories, game recaps and kept statistics for the Running Rebels softball team. 

In addition, he was a marketing assistant with the 2023 National Hockey League Champion Vegas Golden Knights.  Watts also has an extensive background as an anchor, host, producer reporter with UNLV-TV and KTNV Channel 13.  Additionally, he was a promotions assistant with Highway Radio.

Gill and Watts, who begin their duties on August 7, will be pursuing a Master of Business Administration in sport management.  The duo are members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
