GREENWOOD, Ind. – 10 Baldwin Wallace University student-athletes have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team.
In order to qualify for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, must carry a 3.50 or higher grade point average and must have met certain participation requirements in the sports of men's and women's lacrosse, men's volleyball, men's wrestling, women's bowling and women's golf.

Nanosky, who garners his second accolade, carried a 3.921 grade point average in finance. He becomes just the second BW student-athlete to earn the honor joining former All-American defender Neil Randall, who received his recognition in 2023. This season, Nanosky led the team and was tied for second in the OAC with 28 assists. He was second on the squad and was eight in the league with 35 goals. Nanosky led the team and was fourth in the conference with 63 points. He also tallied 14 ground balls and six caused turnovers. For his career, Nanosky is the University record holder for shots on goal with 239, goals scored with 135 and games played with 67. He ranks second all-time in school history in assists with 107 and points with 242. Nanosky also holds the single season record for a freshman in shots on goal with 68, total points with 63, goals scored with 39 and assists with 27. He has also recorded 82 ground balls and caused 28 turnovers in his career. Nanosky is a four-time All-OAC selection, including a three-time first-team honoree, a two-time OAC Offensive Player of the Week Award recipient and the 2021 OAC Rookie of the Year Award winner. Off the field, he is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection, Dean's list student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma, Dayton C. Miller and School of Business honoraries. Nanosky was also a two-year letter winning wide receiver where he received Academic All-OAC honors.
Beard, who earns his second honor, carried 3.723 grade point average in accounting. This season, he has appeared in 26 matches with 25 starts and 93 sets. Beard leads the team in kills and was seventh in the MCVL with 313. He led the squad and was sixth in the conference with 33 service aces. Beard was second on the squad and 16th in the league with 166 digs. He has also posted 24 assists and 15 total blocks. For his career, Beard appeared in 101 matches and 346 sets. He is the school-record holder for kills with 1,713, career digs with 602 and service aces with 128. Beard ranks second on the all-time list in blocks with 97 and fourth in assists with 82. He is a four-time All-MCVL selection, including the last two as a first-team honoree. Beard is a three-time MCVL Offensive Player of the Week selection, an MCVL Defensive Player of the Week honoree, 2023 MCVL All-Tournament Team player and an American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week. Off the court, he is an Academic All-MCVL honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Long, who garners his first accolade, carried a 3.836 grade point average in sport management. This season, he appeared in 21 matches with 20 starts and 80 sets. Long led the team and was second in the MCVL with 805. He was third on the squad with 136 digs and fifth in service aces with 14. Long added 16 blocks and 11 kills. For his career, Long appeared in 89 matches and 325 sets. He is the school-record holder in assists with 3,129 and the single season-record for assists with 1,051. Long ranks second all-time in second in digs with 507, second service aces with 93 and fourth in blocks with 93. He also posted 87 kills. Long is a two-time All-MCVL first-team honoree, 2023 MCVL Tournament Most Valuable Player and a 2023 All-MCVL All-Tournament Team selection Off the court, Long is a two-time Academic All-MCVL honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Byrne, who earns his first honor, carried a 3.714 grade point average in business management. This season, he led the team with a career-best 21 pins and was fourth on squad with a career-best 36 wins. Byrne added career-high six major decisions and one technical fall. He was an NCAA Division III National Qualifier at 285 pounds, the NCAA Division III Central Region Champion at 285 pounds and the OAC Wrestler of the Week on December 18. For his career, Byrne ranks sixth on the school's all-time wins list with a career-record of 117-20. He recorded 70 pins, 17 major decisions and four technical falls. He was a four-time All-OAC performer, including three consecutive first-team selections, three-time NCAA Division III National qualifier at three different weight classes, two-time NCAA Central Regional Champion and two different weight classes and a two-time All-American. He was a four-time individual invitational champion and a three-time OAC Men's Wrestler of the Week Award winner. Off the mat, Byrne is a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Scholar All-American and an Academic All-OAC performer.
Armbruster, who garners her first accolade, carried 3.956 grade point average in accounting. This season, she recorded 2,292 pins in five of inaugural season eight competitions.
Parso, who earns her first honor, carried 3.834 grade point average in business administration. This season, she led the team with 5,512 pins in all eight inaugural season competitions.
Workman, who garners her first accolade, carried 3.840 grade point average in
adolescent young and adult education and mathematics. This season, she recorded 3,184 pins in all eight inaugural season competitions. Off the lanes, Workman was a Dean's List student. She was also a member of the BW cheer team for four years.
Newsome, who earns her first honor, carries a 3.638 grade point average in digital media and design. This season, she was second on the team with a career-best 89.00 stroke average in 19 rounds and 11 tournaments. Newsome shot a career-low round of 81 at the Defiance College Invitational on April 19. For her career, Newsome has played in 35 rounds and 34 tournaments. She has a career stroke average of 90.85. Off the links, Newsome is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
Smith, who garners her first accolade, carries a 3.857 grade point average in human resource management and management and innovation. This season, she led the team with a career-best 88.40 stroke average in 20 rounds and 10 tournaments. Smith fired a career-low round of 79 at the OAC Championships on May 3. For her career, Smith has played in 39 rounds and 24 tournaments. She has a career stroke average of 90.61. Off the course, Smith is an Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's list student, Jacket Schola and a 2024 Dr. Obie Bender Excellence in Athletics Award recipient.
Kern, who earns her second honor, carries a 3.964 grade point average in chemistry. This season, she appeared in 18 games with 17 starts. Kern led the team and was fourth in the OAC in caused turnovers with 23. She also collected a career-high 28 ground balls and her first career assist. Kern was named the OAC Co-Defender of the Year and was an All-OAC first-team honoree. For her career, Kern has played in 46 games with 44 starts. She ranks eighth all-time in caused turnovers with 50 and 24th in ground balls with 61. Off the field, Kern is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries.
