NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's track and field teams have been recognized as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross County Coaches Association (USTFCCC) All-Academic Team while five student-athletes have garnered All-Academic honors.
For a team to qualify for All-Academic Team honors, each gender must have a team grade point average at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility.
The BW, who were one of 175 NCAA Division III teams and one of five Ohio Athletic Conference programs to be honored, carried a 3.29 grade point average. The Yellow Jacket women, who were one of 2017NCAA Division III teams and one of five OAC team programs to be recognized, carried a 3.49 grade point average.
In order for a student-athlete to qualify, the athlete must have carried a grade point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period and have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals listed on TFRRS. In addition, any athlete not among the top 50, but who participated at the indoor or outdoor championships are eligible.
