Scholar-Athlete Smolik Garners Third Career OAC Weekly Honor
BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC guard/forward Audrey Smolik (Strongsville) has been named as the OAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for the third time in her career and for the third straight season.

Smolik, who leads BW in scoring at 11.5 points-per-game and has 813 career points, scored 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets increased their winning streak to four straight games with victories at Marietta College (73-62) and at home versus Wilmington College (55-29). She also is tied for the team lead with 6.9 rebounds-per-game

The past OAC Student-Athlete of the Month (January 2014) had her fourth career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds versus Marietta, and added 11 points and seven rebounds against Wilmington. Smolik, who carries a 3.87 grade point average in middle childhood education and hopes to teach and coach following graduation, canned 9 of 22 shots from the floor, 1 of 6 three-pointers and 6 of 8 foul shots. She also had two assists and a steal.

In addition to being the OAC Player of the Week for the third time in her career, earlier this season Smolik was an all-tournament team pick in the the Second Annual BW Invitational (Nov. 21-23).
 
The Yellow Jackets next play on December 29 versus fourth-ranked Tufts (Mass.) University in the first of two games at the Puerto Rico Invitational at 11 a.m. BW also plays Emmanuel (Mass.) University on December 31 at 11 a.m.
 
The next home game is on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 versus Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University xin the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 p.m.
