BW Women's Basketball Allows Season-Low 29 Points in Victory
BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team held Wilmington College to a season-low 29 points as it defeated the Quakers, 55-29, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW (7-2, 4-1 OAC) was led by senior All-OAC guard Audrey Smolik (Strongsville) as she was the lone player to score in double figures with a game-high 11 points. Sophomore guard Janaya Feaster (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) tallied nine and senior guard Shari Mangas (Leipsic) added eight. Junior guard Erin Allen (Girard, Pa.) grabbed a game and career-high eight rebounds.

Wilmington (6-3, 2-2 OAC) was led sophomore forward Mary Moyer with eight points.

In the first half, neither team was able to score in the first three-plus minutes until the Yellow Jackets broke through and scored on a layup by Smolik at the 16:37 mark. The Quakers tied the game at 2-2 just 30 seconds later on a layup by freshman guard Emily Smith at 16:07. BW responded with a 17-2 run to take a 19-4 lead on layup by Feaster at the 6:07 mark. Wilmington outscored the Yellow Jackets 9-4 down the stretch but trailed 23-13 at the intermission.

The Quakers opened the second half on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 23-19 on a jumper by junior guard Ashley Andracki at the 18:30 mark. BW answered right back with a 12-2 run to push the lead to 35-21 on a three-pointer by Mangas at 15:47. The Yellow Jackets put the game away with a 16-3 run to push the lead to 51-24 on a jumper by freshman guard Casey Midlk (Medina) at the 3:46 mark.

BW returns to action on Monday, December 29 when they play fourth-ranked Tufts (Mass.) University in the first of two games in the Puerto Rico Invitational at 11 a.m. The Yellow Jackets also play Emmanuel (Mass.) College in the second game of the tournament on Wednesday, December 31 at 11 a.m. The next home game is on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 when the team hosts Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University in the Ursprung Gym at 7:30 p.m.
