WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On the road against Ohio Athletic Conference-leading Otterbein University, the Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team could not hold off the Cardinals' offense in the second half, falling 4-1.

With the win, Otterbein (13-2, 7-0 OAC) clinches at least a share of the OAC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament.

BW (5-10-2, 1-5-1 OAC) struck first in the 12th minute off the foot of sophomore All-OAC forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) as he continues to set a new school record for goals scored in a single season. A right to left cross from sophomore forward Cannon Dees (Berea/Berea-Midpark) was then headed back into the midfield by freshman forward Michael Snowball (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) before Ruple hammered his 18th goal of the season into the far post.

A few minutes later, Noah Coons tied up the score for the Cardinals. The rest of the first half would pass in a 1-1 tie.

Coming out of the locker room in the second half, Otterbein scored two quick goals in the 47th minute and 53rd minute to take a 3-1 lead. A goal by Nate Norris, the reigning OAC Player of the Week, in the 79th minute sealed the 4-1 victory for the Cardinals.

Sophomore midfielder Timmy Jonas (Fairview Park/St. Edward) had perhaps the best scoring opportunity of the second half when he took a header shot in the 68th minute that was saved by the Cardinal goalkeeper. Thirty seconds later, he took a corner kick but could not find any of his teammates for a shot.

Senior goalkeeper Ryan Asbury (Cincinnati/Turpin) tied a season-high of six saves while facing 10 shots on goal. Otterbein took a total of 24 shots on the night while the Yellow Jackets 11 shots, only three of which were on target.

BW will close out the season with back-to-back home games, first welcoming Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
