AUSTIN, Texas – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Danny Ruple (Berea/ Berea-Midpark) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Team for the first time in his career.

Ruple was named to the first team and is the sixth Yellow Jacket men's soccer student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American, the first since Pat Brennan '12 earned CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American honors in 2011. The sophomore is one of two OAC student-athletes to be named to this year's team.

An accounting major, Ruple carries a 3.88 cumulative grade point average and is a Dean's List student and an Academic All-OAC selection.

This season, Ruple earned his first OAC Forward of the Year and his second All-OAC honor by leading the Yellow Jackets and the conference in goals, points and shots, setting two school records in the process. His 19 goals and 45 points broke two separate single-season records set by Carlin Vandendriessche in 2011. Ruple was named OAC Player of the Week following his first career hat trick against Bluffton University on Sept. 16 and earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region first team.

For his career, Ruple has appeared in 38 games and tallied 27 goals and 13 assists for 67 points on 132 shots.

BW's 109 all-time Academic All-Americans is more than any Division III college or university in the OAC or the state of Ohio and ranks 12th nationally in Division III.
