BEREA, Ohio - Get to know sophomore forward Cole McDaniel (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem). This season, McDaniel appeared in all 19 games, making four starts, and scored one goal and one assist for three points. He also earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. 

What are some of your hobbies?

I make mock drafts for the NFL and NBA drafts, watch a lot of sports and call games and am on SportsPulse for 88.3 The Sting. I also watch a lot of Friends and Seinfeld while doing homework and studying. 

What is your favorite holiday?

Well, when I saw this question, Christmas came to mind first, but that's such a common answer. So I'm thinking March Madness because that's pretty much a holiday. I mean, it's around Spring Break and Easter. I have little motivation to do much besides watch all of the basketball games, and it is exciting every single year. Therefore, March Madness is an official holiday and is a great one. If only we could get time off classes and people didn't have to go to work for the Thursday and Friday of the first round.  

If you could pick one super power, what would it be and why?

I would choose being as fast as Flash. For soccer, that would be an unstoppable power. I wouldn't have to worry about our conditioning tests because I would have the 2-mile done in under a minute and I would break the treadmill for the treadmill test. Not only would I be able to run fast but I could do homework quickly, apply for internships faster and get other responsibilities finishes so I could actually sleep for once in college. 

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

I think it is just to pursue my dreams. If there is something I aspire to do or be, then why not try for it? It never hurts to make an effort. If that fails, then try again or find a new path to get where I want to be. 

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is tacos. This is because there are so many components that your tacos can always be different. If I had to eat tacos for the rest of my life, I could survive because I would just have a different kind for each meal.
