Today's Game -- The Baldwin Wallace University football team opens the 2014 season as it hosts Bluffton University on Saturday, September 13 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium on Family and Community Day.  Bluffton opened the season last Saturday with a 40-20 loss to Ohio Welseyan University at home.

Series Notes --  The Yellow Jackets and Beavers have met four times on the gridiron with BW winning all four games. BW beat the Beavers 26-0 in 1933 in Bluffton, triumphed 34-0 in 1934 in Berea, won 45-13 in Berea in 2012 and 52-21 a year ago in Bluffton.  BW has outscored the Beavers, 157-34, including 97-34 the past two years.  BW and Bluffton also will meet in the season opener at Bluffton in 2015.

Last Meeting -- The last time BW and Bluffton met on September 14, 2013,  the Yellow Jackets defeated the Beavers by a final score of 52-21.  Blufton led 14-10 after the first quarter.  BW led 24-14 at the half and 38-14 after three qurters.   The Yellow Jackets outgained Bluffton, 527-386, in total offense

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
BW returns 26 lettermen and at least 12 starters from last year's team that finished 6-4 overall. Offensively, the Yellow Jackets averaged 26.1 points and 352.4 yards of total offense per game, including 236.0 rushing and 116.4 passing yards.  Defensively, the Yellow Jackets return eight starters to a squad that allowed 195 points and 379.0 yards of total offense per game, including 181.1 rushing and 197.9 passing yards

Scouting The Beavers
In week one of the season, the Beavers scored 20 points all in the first half on 201 yards rushing, 262 yards passing and 468 total yards. Ohio Wesleyan scored 40 points a point on 236 yards rushing, 185 yards passing and 421 total yards. 

Beaver Statistical Leaders
Offensively, senior QB Nick Sheehan completed 17-of-42 passes for 262 yards with a TD and two interceptions.  Senior RB Eric Fo led the ground attack as he ran for a career-high 221 yards on 26 attempts with two TDs. Sophomore WR Micah Roberson led the aerial assault with six catches for 106 yards.

Defensivley, senior strong safety Travaun Reaves, senior linebacker Brad Swavel and sophomore free safety Tyrone White each had a team-high 10 tackles.
