Baseball Salutes Eight Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and baseball program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Max Adams, Spencer Berg, Jacob Bonner, Dom Davis, Scott Kirchhoff, Tony LoParo, Jeremy McClure and Dudley Taw on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University. Their hard work, dedication and commitment to the program is evident, and is greatly appreciated. These young men have had solid careers not only athletically but academically as well. In addition, their leadership has been a key element.

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athlete will come back for another season or continue down their career path.  So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these eight young men on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the baseball program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Adams is a marketing major from Massillon, Ohio and a graduate of Washington High School.  He is a right handed pitcher that will earn his second varsity letter this spring.   This season, Adams has appeared in three games and pitched 1.1 innings.  For his career, Adams has appeared in  36 games with five starts.  He has recorded one win and two saves with 38 strikeouts and 36 walks on 58 innings pitched.  He is the son of Boone and Christine Adams of Massillon.

 

 

 


Berg
is marketing and digital marketing double major from New Albany, Ohio and a graduate of New Albany High School.  He is a left handed pitcher that will earn his second varsity letter this spring.  This season, Berg appeared in nine games and had 15 strikeouts and 12 walks in 13.2 innings pitched. For his career, Berg has appeared in 49 games with four starts.  He has won five games and recorded five saves with 86 strikeouts and 45 walks on 84.1 innings. Berg is the son of Kevin and Melody Berg of New Albany.

 

 

 

 

Bonner is a finance major from Akron, Ohio and a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School.  He is an utility player that will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring.  This season, Bonner played in 35 games and batted .276 (27-of-98) with four doubles, two home runs, 19 runs scored, 16 runs batted-in and 13 walks.  For his career, Bonner has played in 173 games and has a career batting average of .287.  He has tallied 166 hits with 110 runs scored, 33 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 103 runs batted-in, 65 walks and seven stolen bases.  Bonner is the son of Keith Bonner and Kim Welsh of Akron.

  

 

 

Davis is a exercise science major from Coraopolis, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School.  He is an infiedler that will earn his first varsity letter this spring after transferring from Wheeling Jesuit (W. Va.) University.  This season, Davis appeared in 14 games and had four hits, three runs scored, two doubles and one run batted-in.  For his career, he has appeared in 17 games and has four hits, three runs scored and two doubles. Davis is the son of Tim and Lisa Davis of Corapolis.

 

 

 

  

Kirchhoff is a business management graduate major from Toledo, Ohio and a graduate of Sylvania Northview High School.  He is a right handed pitcher that will earn his first varsity letter this spring.  This season, Kirchhoff appeared in nine games and won two games.  He struck out 22 batters in 25 innings.  For his career, Kirchhoff has appeared in 12 games and has a record of 3-1 with 30 strikeouts and 11 walks in 29.2 inning pitched. Off the field, he is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar.  Kirchhoff is the son of Jon and Joanna Kirchhoff of Toledo.

 

 

 

LoParo is a management major from Avon, Ohio and a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School.  He is an infielder that will earn his third varsity letter this spring.  This season, LoParo had a breakout season as he posted career-bests in every offensive category. He was third on the team and tied for 10th in the OAC in runs batted-in with 36.  LoParo was tied for second on squad and tied for fifth in the league in stolen bases with 10.  He had a .353 batting average with 55 hits, 15 walks, nine doubles and three homeruns. LoParo was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorable mention selection. For his career, LoParo has played in 108 and has .3865 batting average. He has accumulated 90 hits, 61 runs scored, 52 runs batted-in, 34 walks, 15 doubles, 14 stolen bases, three homeruns and two triples. LoParo is the son of Robert and Nancy LoParo of Avon.

  

 

 

McClure is a biology major from Mentor, Ohio and a graduate of Mentor High School.  He is a right handed pitcher that will earn his first varsity letter this spring.  This season, McClure appeared in five games and won one game.  He struck out nine batters in 7.2 innings pitched.   For his career, McClure has appeared in 13 games and has a record of 2-1.  He has tallied 15 strikeouts and 16 walks in 23.0 innings. McClure is the son of Doug and Emily McClure of Mentor.

 

 

 

 

Taw is a business management graduate major from Sheffield Lake, Ohio and a graduate of Brookside High School. He is an All-American and All-Ohio Athletic Conference center fielder that will earn his fourth varsity letter this spring.  This season, Taw led the team and was sixth in the OAC in stolen bases with 16 and led the squad and was ninth in the league in walks with 21. He was tied for the team lead and tied for second in the conference with eight homeruns. He was second on the team and tied for fourth in the conference with 15 doubles. Taw had a .370 batting average with 61 hits and 32 runs batted-in. For his career, Taw has played in 129 career games and has a batting average of 349. He has recorded 160 hits, 113 runs batted-in, 107 runs scored, 56 walks, 47 stolen bases, 40 doubles, 24 home runs and four triples. Taw is the son of Shawn and Amanda Baiers of Sheffield Lake.
