Ludwick Earns First Career OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball shortstop Alex Ludwick (Brunswick/Padua Franciscan) has been selected as the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the first time in his career.

Ludwick earned his accolade after a hot weekend at the plate to propel BW to four-game sweep of Wilmington College. He had a .600 batting average as he was 12-20 from the left side with three doubles, one triple, three home runs and nine runs batted-in (RBIs). On Saturday, Ludwick belted two home runs in game two and was a single away from hitting for his first career cycle.

For the season, he is tied for first in the OAC with four homeruns, tied for second with 14 RBIs and third with a .568 batting average. Ludwick has tallied five doubles, one triple and three stolen bases. He has an on-base percentage of .550 and 1.081 slugging percentage.

In his career, Ludwick is 155-of-446 for a .348 batting average in 107 games. He has scored 107 runs and has recorded 33 doubles, 13 triples, eight home runs, 96 RBIs and 29 stolen bases.

The Yellow Jackets take the diamond again on Saturday, March 27 when they travel to Tiffin for the first OAC doubleheader of the weekend against Heidelberg University. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. with the second game scheduled for 4 p.m.
