Taw Garners First Career OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the first time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University baseball All-American center fielder Dudley Taw (Sheffield Lake/Brookside) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

Taw had a hot weekend at the plate as he batted .700 (7-for-10) with two doubles, two home runs, five runs scored and five runs batted-in (RBIs) as BW went 1-2 against No. 5 nationally-ranked Marietta College.

This season, he has appeared in 23 games and has a batting average of .404 (38-for-94).  Taw leads the team and is tied for fourth in the league in doubles with 9 and is third on the team and tied for fifth in the conference with five homeruns.  He also has scored 25 runs, knocked in 17 runs, walked 16 times and swiped 12 bases.  Taw has recorded 47 putouts and one assist.

In his career, Taw has appeared in 112 games and has a career batting average of .353 (137-for-388).   He has recorded 98 RBIs, 51 walks, 43 steals, 34 doubles, 21 homeruns and four triples.  Taw has a career .966 fielding percentage and has tallied 164 putouts and six assists.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 24 when they host an OAC doubleheader against Ohio Northern University on Fisher Field at 1 p.m.
