AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior right fielder Alex Marcum (Granville) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the second time this season.

Marcum, who earns his second career hitter of the week honor after being named the OAC Hitter of the Week on March 27, led BW to a 2-2 record last week. He batted .643 with one double, one homerun, six runs batted in (RBI) and three stolen bases. In game two of the sweep against Wilmington College, Marcum went three-for-four with a homerun, double and four RBIs. This season, he leads the conference with 31 RBIs, is first on the team with a batting average of .364 and is second on the squad with 14 extra base hits.

In his career, he has played in 96 games and is batting .310 with an on base percentage of .375 and a slugging percentage of .449. The right fielder has tallied 272 putouts and only committed 14 errors over the past three seasons.

BW is back on Wednesday, April 19 when it hosts Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on Fisher Field. Game one starts at 1 p.m. and game two is slated for 4 p.m.
