Lovick Earns Second Career OAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University baseball junior and All-Ohio Athletic Conference starting pitcher Evan Lovick (Mentor) has been named the OAC Pitcher of the week for the second time in his career.

Lovick, who earned his last pitcher of the week honor last season, went 2-0 last week and tied a single season school record with the victory in game one versus Muskingum. This week, he pitched nine innings and did not allow an earned run with six strikeouts and just three walks. Lovick pitched the final two innings of relief against No. 5-nationally ranked The College of Wooster and started game one of the OAC doubleheader versus Muskingum to earn his two victories. This season, Lovick has made 11 appearances and is 8-1 with an ERA of 1.77 with 43 strikeouts.

In his career, he is 16-3 in 160.2 innings of work and an ERA of 2.24. Last season, Lovick was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III All-Mideast Region team and was an All-OAC honorable mention.

BW is back in action on Friday, May 5 when it travels to Mishawaka, Indiana for a non-conference doubleheader against Benedictine (Ill.) University on the Richard C. Patterson Field at Jenkins Stadium.
