Nieto and Lovick Earn All-Mideast Region Honors

BEREA, Ohio –
Baldwin Wallace University baseball senior All-OAC designated hitter Cole Nieto (Brunswick/St. Ignatius) and junior All-OAC starting pitcher Evan Lovick (Mentor) each earned All-Mideast Region honors.

Nieto, who earns his third total All-Mideast Region honor, was a second team selection on the D3Baseball.com All-Mideast Region team. This season, he had a batting average of .345, on-base percentage .411 and team-best slugging percentage of .593. Nieto tallied a team-high 13 doubles and seven home runs with 32 RBIs and a career-high 10 stolen bases. He put himself in the BW record books this year as he hit the school's first cycle since 2005 in a victory against the University Pittsburg Greensburg. Nieto also was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District 7 team and is eligible for the All-America ballot. He finished his career with a batting average of .341, on-base percentage of .399 and a slugging percentage of .552. Nieto has tallied 109 RBIs, 43 doubles and 17 homeruns.

Lovick garners his second straight America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Mideast Region second-team honor. He tied a BW single season school record with eight wins this season with an 8-2 record. Lovick recorded a career-high 49 strikeouts and finished the year with a 2.47 earned runs average (ERA). In his career, he has pitched 167.2 innings for the Yellow Jackets and is 16-4 with 103 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.52.

BW finished the year with an overall record of 22-17 and an OAC record of 10-8.
