Brennan Earns Second Weekly OAC Women's Cross Country Honor This Season

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University's Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season and the second time in her career.

Brennan nabs her second weekly honor in just three weeks, as BW encountered a bye in their schedule the previous weekend. She is joined by sophomore teammate Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain) as the only Yellow Jacket runners to earn the weekly accolade this fall, men's squad included.

BW competed alongside 32 other NCAA Division III programs in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. The six-kilometer event was hosted by Oberlin College on the Oberlin College Cross Country Course.

Brennan was the top Yellow Jacket finisher for the third race season, completing the race in a career-best time of 21:23.6, and garnering an impressive third place finish out of 283 total participants. Brennan's performance helped BW secure fifth place amongst the 32 competing Division III schools.

The No. 19 nationally-ranked Yellow Jackets will return to the racecourse on Saturday, November 2 when they travel to nearby Gates Mills to compete Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by crosstown rival John Carroll University.
