ADA, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina) and freshman hurdler Amanda Milo (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) each won a title as the Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team finished fourth after two-days of competition at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University inside the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
BW was fourth of 10 teams with 113 points. Otterbein University was the champion with 164.5 points.
Nemeth, who was named the Co-Most Outstanding Sprinter/Hurdler, won the 200-meter dash in a career-best time of 25.69 to earn her second career All-OAC honor. Milo, who earned her first career All-OAC accolade, won the 60-meter dash in a career-best time of 9.05 seconds, which ranks tied for 20th in the NCAA.
In addition for the Yellow Jackets, junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve), who was named the Most Outstanding Field Event Athlete, was the runner-up in the shot put with a season-best toss of 43 feet and three inches to earn her fourth career indoor All-OAC honor. Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) finished third in the 1-mile run in a time of 5:07.63 to claim her third career All-OAC indoor accolade. Junior Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) earned her first All-OAC honor as she took third in the 3000-meter run in a time of 10:27.13 and was fourth in the 1-mile in a time of 5:07.66. Freshman distance runner Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa. / Central Mountain) took fifth in the 3000-meter run in a time of 10:36.14. Sophomore distance runner Madison Kile (North Canton/Hoover) took sixth in the 1-mile in a time of 5:16.77 and ninth in the 1000-meter in a time of 3:11.37. Sophomore sprinter Ky'Leana Allen (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) was eighth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.37. Sophomore distance runner Rebecca Penrose (Springfield/Shawnee) placed eighth in the 1000-meter run in a time of 3:09.84.
In relay action, the 800-meter relay unit took fourth in a time of 1:46.79. The 1600-meter relay finished sixth in a time of 4:19.97.
BW is back in action on Saturday, March 2 when it travels to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to compete in the NCAA Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point at 11:30 a.m.
