Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Places Fifth at Muskingum’s Amy Adams Meet

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field teams placed fifth at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track inside McConagha Stadium.

BW placed fifth of 14 teams with 77.5 points. Case Western Reserve University won the meet with 155 points.

Sophomore distance runner Megan Vaughn (Amherst/Firelands) got BW off to a good start when she won the 10,000-meter run in a career-best time of 42:13.33, crushing her previous career best by a full 2:35, while freshman distance runner Jenna Daulbaugh (Minerva) was the runner-up in the same event in 42:37.87. Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference hurdler Amanda Milo (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) also captured another win on the track when she posted a time of 15.22 seconds to the top the 100-meter hurdles for the second straight meet.

In the 1,500-meter run, the Yellow Jackets added 19 points to their team total between junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC distance runner Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View), freshman distance runner Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain), sophomore All-OAC distance runner Madison Kile (North Canton/Hoover) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC distance runner Katie Fowler (Mount Vernon). Pendola was the runner-up in 4:50.79, Laughner took third in 4:54.91, Kile placed fifth in 5:00.61 and Fowler ran a career-best time of 5:06.75 to finish eighth. Pendola also had a career-best time of 2:24.24 to bring home third place in the 800-meter run.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Fowler, freshman All-OAC distance runner Natalie Vinci (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas), Pendola and Kile took third overall and finished as the top Division III quad in a time of 4:18.13.

In the field, senior Academic All-OAC jumper Jessica Edwards (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) had the best result for the Yellow Jackets when she finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 1.25 inches. Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) took home a pair of fourth-place finishes in the discus throw and the hammer throw with marks of 118'4" and 143'9", respectively.

BW will next compete on Saturday, March 30, at the April Fools Invitational, hosted by Otterbein University inside Memorial Stadium.
