BW Outdoor Track and Field Teams Begin Season at Unscored Coastal Carolina (S.C.) Invitational

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened the 2009 season this weekend (Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, 2009) at the unscored Coastal Carolina University Invitational Meet in Conway, South Carolina.

For the men, junior Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) placed fifth in the shotput with a throw of 48 feet, 11 and half inches.  In the running events, senior Nate Bowen (Fremont/Ross) was fourth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:02.49.  Senior Alan Kidon (Chardon) was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.08 and junior Jimmy Eberts (North Canton/Hoover) was also fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:59.43.

For the women, sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum) ran a time of 4:48.89 in the 1500-meter run, good for fourth place.  

The Yellow Jacket men and women will next compete on Saturday, March 21 when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte Invitational Meet at 11:00 a.m.
