BW Men and Women's Track and Field Teams Each Finished Second at Ohio Wesleyan Marv Frye Invite

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's track and field teams each finished in second place at the annual Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware. 
 
The BW men totaled 103.5 points and placed second out of 14 teams, while the women had 95 points and also placed second out of 14 teams.  BW produced two individual champions  the day.
 
For the women, junior thrower Erin Norton (Lakewood/ Senior) won the hammer throw with a toss of 137 feet, three inches.  Senior sprinter Jordan Hill (Carrollton), sophomore distance runner Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum), junior distance runner D'Arcy Hlavin and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinterRebekah Paul (Gibsonburg) teamed to win the 4-by-400-meter relay in 4:05.45. 
 
Sophomore thrower Kevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/ Watkins Memorial) won the discus throw with a 154-foot, nine-inch heave.  Junior thrower Greg Patrick (Collins/ Western Reserve) followed Phipps in second placed in the discus throw with a throw of 148 feet, four inches, was also second in the shot put with a throw of 48 feet, six inches and finished third with a 150-foot, six-inch toss in the hammer throw.
 
The Yellow Jacket men and women will next compete on Saturday, April 11 when they travel to back to Delaware, Ohio to compete at the annual All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University at 11:00 a.m.
