BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team placed second in the Annual BW Indoor Meet tonight (Friday, February 6, 2009) on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Recreation Center Fieldhouse.
The Yellow Jacket men scored 116.50 points and placed second of nine teams.
Individually for the men, senior hurdler Alan Kidon (Chardon), senior distance runners Nate Bowen (Fremont/ Ross) and Derek Hill (Fremont/ Ross), junior decathlete Steve Price (North Olmsted) and sophomore throwerKevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/ Watkins Memorial) all recorded second place finishes. Kidon finished the 500-meter run in a time of 1:09.04, Bowen recorded a 1:58.63 in the 800-meter run, Hill ran the 5,000-meter run in 15:48.96, Price leaped 6' 3.50" in the high jump and Phipps recorded a weight throw of 53'3.75".
The Yellow Jacket men are back in action next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14. On Feb. 13, BW will host the Annual Mid-February Meet in Berea at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, select men will compete at the 2009 All-Ohio Championship Meet in the Rike Center at Otterbein College in Westerville at 11:00 a.m.
