No. 5 Men’s Wrestling Cages Cardinals for Third OAC Victory

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 5 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team defeated Otterbein University in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match by a final score of 40-3 inside the Rike Center.

BW (10-2, 3-0 OAC) has now won 28 straight OAC matches, including winning eight straight against Otterbein (4-6, 1-2 OAC).

  • 125 pounds:    Senior All-American and No. 4 nationally ranked Jacob Decatur (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) won by forfeit
  • 133 pounds:    Senior All-American and No. 5 nationally ranked Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J) won a 19-4 technical fall over Zach Orseno
  • 141 pounds:    Freshman Keegan McMahon (Ashburn, Va. / Paul VI Catholic) won a 13-8 decision over Andrew Sas
  • 149 pounds:    Senior All-American and No. 1 nationally ranked Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) won by pinfall in 1:59 over Nathan Leko
  • 157 pounds:    Junior All-OAC Tommy West (Avon Lake/St. Edward) won by pinfall in 1:13 over Bo Branson
  • 165 pounds:    Freshman Andrew Supers (Medina) won an 8-1 decision over Cale Callahan
  • 174 pounds:    Junior Donovan Palmer (North Ridgeville/Lutheran West) won a 6-0 decision over Logan Cormell
  • 184 pounds:    Junior Carter Lloyd (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won a 9-3 decision over Gary Steele
  • 197 pounds:    Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Luke Hopkins (Cuyahoga Heights) won a 15-0 technical fall Brandon Thomas
  • 285 pounds:    Freshman Angelo Camargo (Brook Park/St. Ignatius) lost a 2-1 decision to Billy Reed-Bodey

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, January 20 when they host the OAC duals against crosstown rival John Carroll University, the University of Mount Union, and Muskingum University inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.

BW hosts the 37th John Summa Invitational on Saturday, February 3 inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.
