No. 3 Men’s Wrestling Wins BW Invitational

BEREA, Ohio – The No. 3 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team won the annual BW Invitational inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW, who had eight individual champions, third second place finishers and 16 top-seven placers, was first of 13 teams with 212.5 points. 

Senior 125-pounder Johnny Novak (Cleveland/St. Ignatius) – Champion

  • Won by pinfall in 1:37 over Mason Jones of Manchester (Ind.)
  • Won by pinfall in 2:50 over Michael Cruz of Washington & Jefferson (Pa.)
  • Won a 17-2 technical fall over Hunter Heck of Muskingum
  • Won by an 11-1 major decision over Colton Weimer of Adrian (Mich.)
  • Won a 7-3 decision over Zach Phifer of Adrian (Mich.) 

Senior All-American and No. 2 nationally ranked 133-pounder Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) – Champion

  • Won an 18-2 technical fall over Ben Edwards if Trine (Ind.)
  • Won a 15-0 technical fall over Justin Corcoran of Adrian (Mich.)
  • Won a 10-1 major decision over Michael Kallimani of Manchester (Ind.)
  • Won a 7-2 decision over BW's Brett Blaess (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial)

Senior 141-pounder David Panda (Columbia, Md./Atholton) – Champion
