Wrestlers Fall to Cross-Town Rival CWRU, 26-20, in University Circle
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team fell to Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 26-20, tonight (Tuesday, November 25, 2008) in University Circle.
With its loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-11 overall and next compete in their Ohio Athletic Conference opener next Tuesday, December 2 at Wilmington College at 7:00 p.m.  
Highlighting the match for BW was the first-ever collegiate win for 45-year-old junior 255-pounder Terence Haynes (Brunswick Hills/ Cleveland Glenville)Haynes won in a walkover and is now 1-0. An inspirational story on Haynes can be found on the BW Athletics Web site by clicking HERE.
In addition to Haynes, senior 133-pounder Brian Bucher (Ottawa Hills/Avon Lake) improved to 10-2 overall with a 14-2 win versus Case's Tim Sykes. At 165 pounds, senior Joe Invcorvaia (Medina/Highland) picked up a 4-0 victory versus Jacob Kornblatt to move to 7-5 on the season and sophomore Andrew Scavuzzo (Cuyahoga Falls/Woodridge) recorded a pin of Evan Malone to also improve to 7-5.
Following its trip to Wilmington, BW travels to Rochester, New York to compete at the Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 6. At one of BW's upcoming matches, ESPN will be sending a film crew to tape Haynes' story for its magazine show ESPN 360.  Stay tuned for more details.
