Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at Wooster Spring Invitational

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team concluded their regular season schedule at the Wooster Spring Invitational at the Mohican Hills Golf Club on April 13 and 14.

The Yellow Jackets finished seventh out of 14 teams with a total of 704 after shooting a 354 in round one and 350 in round two. Denison University won the event with a team total of 648.

BW was led by freshman Kelly Linnabary (Westerville/Central) with a two round total of 172, including an 84 in round one which was tied for the team-low with junior Anna Schatschneider (Avon), who shot a 90 in round one in addition to an 84 in round two.

Sophomore Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) carded rounds of 95 and a career-low 85 for a total of 180, good for third-best on the squad. Rounding out the top five was senior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) with a total of 181 and junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Emily Hunt (Marysville) with rounds of 92 and 93.

Playing as individuals were freshman Leah Metzger (Ashland) and sophomore Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School). Metzger posted rounds of 91 and 98 for a total of 189 while Simon fired a two round total of 199.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action when the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship tees off on April 26. The three-day championship event will be hosted by the University of Mount Union on the River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
