HUDSON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team was the runner-up at John Carroll University Spring Shootout at the Country Club of Hudson.

BW was second of four teams with a round of 356 on the par-72 and 6,440-yard Hudson layout.  Mount Union was the champion with 340 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Anna Schatschneider (Avon) as she fired a round of 87 to tie for 10th place of 36 golfers.   Senior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) and freshman Leah Metzger (Ashland) each carded rounds of 89 to tie for 14th place.  Senior Erinn Maynard (New London) posted a round of 91.  Rounding out the top five was sophomore Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA / Santa Cruz Cooperative School) as she tallied a round of 101.

Playing as individuals were junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Emily Hunt (Marysville), sophomores Aubrey Baumler (Huron), and Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) and freshmen Kelly Linnabary (Westerville/Central) and Mary Fraley (Cleveland/Mayfield).

Linnabary led the individuals as she was the tournament runner-up with a career-low round of 80.  Sladky carded a career-low round of 88.  Hunt posted a round of 94. Baumler fired a career-low round of 102.  Fraley finished with a career-low round of 118. 

BW plays its final regular season tournament on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14 when it travels to Wooster to compete in the College of Wooster Spring Invitational at the Wooster Country Club.

The OAC Championships will be contested on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 26-28 in West Lafayette at the River Greens Golf Course.
