AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University women's golf student-athletes have landed on the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.
In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Sophomore Aubrey Baumler (Huron), junior Emily Hunt (Marysville), sophomore Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) and junior All-OAC performer Anna Schatschneider (Avon) are four of the 62 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this spring.
Baumler, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a Spanish and political science double major who carries a 3.796 GPA. Academically, she is a Dean's List student and the 2017-18 recipient of the BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the women's golf team. In her career, Baumler averages 118.79 strokes per round and shot a career-low round of 102 at the John Carroll University Spring Shootout this season.
Hunt, who garners her second straight Academic All-OAC accolade is an exercise science major who carries a 3.556 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. For her career, Hunt averages 98.87 strokes per round and shot a career-low 88 at the John Carroll Fall Invitational in 2017.
Sladky, who is named to her first career Academic All-OAC team, is an English major who carries a 3.9 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. In her career, Sladky averages 98.29 strokes per round and shot a career-low round of 85 at the College of Wooster Spring Invitational this season.
Schatschneider, who also earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a health and physical education major who carries a 3.6 GPA. Before transferring to BW in the fall, she was a recipient of the Women's Golf Association Division II All-Scholar Team Award while at Ashland University. This season, Schatschneider averaged 87.46 strokes per round and shot a career-low 80 at the OAC Championships.
