Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Allegheny (Pa.) Fall Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in sixth place at the two-day Allegheny (Pa.) College Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Hudson.

BW was six of seven teams with 767 strokes on the par-72 and 5,803-yard Meadville layout.  NCAA Division II Mercyhurst (Pa.) University was the champion with 661 strokes. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.) as she fired rounds of 88 and 94 for an invitational total of 182.  Freshman Leah Metzger (Ashland) carded rounds of 91 and 92 for a two-day total of 183.  Freshman Kelly Linnabary (Westerville/Central) posted rounds of 98 and 97 for a two-round total of 195. Freshman Alex Wiedemann (Medina) tallied rounds of 106 and 102 for an invitational total of 208. Rounding out the top five was junior Hannah Durst (Madison) as she tallied identical rounds of 105 for a total of 210.

Playing as individuals were junior Emily Hunt (Marysville) and sophomore Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School).    Hunt posted rounds of 98 and 94 for a two-round total of 192.  Simon tallied rounds of 101 and 104 for a two-day total of 205.

BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30 when it travels to West Lafayette to compete in the OAC Fall Preview hosted by the University of Mount Union.   The Yellow Jackets close out the fall portion of their schedule on October 6-7 when they travel to Wooster to compete in the annual Eva Shorb Weiskopf Memorial Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.
