Women’s Golf Takes Third at OAC Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in third place at the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union at the River Green Golf Course. 

BW was third of seven teams with 757 strokes on the par-73 and 5,811-yard River Greens layout.  Otterbein University was the champion with 692 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) as she fired rounds of 94 and a career-low 89 for a total of 183.  Junior Anna Schatschneider (Avon) carded rounds of 98 and 93 for a two-day total of 191.  Freshman Leah Metzger (Ashland) posted rounds of 94 and 97 for a two-round total of 191.  Senior Grace Magee (Skaneateles, N.Y.)  tallied identical rounds of 96 for a total of 192.  Rounding out the top was senior Erinn Maynard (New London) had rounds of 100 and 98 for a total of 198.

Playing as individuals were juniors Emily Hunt (Marysville) and Hannah Durst (Madison), sophomores Aubrey Baumler (Huron) and Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School) and freshmen Kelly Linnabary (Westerville/Central) and Alex Wiedemann (Medina).

Linnabary led the individuals with rounds of 103 and 98 for a total of 201. Simon carded rounds of 112 and 111 for a two-day total of 223.  Wiedemann posted rounds of 105 and 111 for a total of 216. Durst tallied rounds of 112 and 113 for a two-round total of 125.  Baumler recorded rounds of 119 and 133 for a total of 252.  Hunt had a round of 104 before withdrawing in the second round.

BW closes out the fall portion of its schedule on October 6-7 when it travels to Wooster to compete in the annual Eva Shorb Weiskopf Memorial Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.
