BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University softball freshman first baseman Alexis Boledovic (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) and freshman shortstop Erica English (North Olmsted) have been selected as honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference.
Boledovic, who appeared in and started 35 games at first base and earned her first varsity letter, was the team leader in hitting with a .341 batting average, doubles with seven, runs scored with 20 and putouts with 169. She also tied for the team lead in walks with 12 and was second in hits with 31. Boledovic also recorded eight runs batted-in (RBIs), four stolen bases and had one triple. As a fielder, she led the team with a .994 fielding percentage and only had one error on the season. Highlighting her season, Boledovic had a career-best three hits on two occasions with the last coming in the final doubleheader of the season when she also recorded a career-best two doubles. She had a career-best 10 putouts in her very first OAC game.
English, who started in all 36 games at shortstop and earned her first varsity letter, led the team in hits with 36 and 67 assists. She was second on the squad in hitting with a .330 batting average and 13 runs scored. English also tallied eight walks, three RBIS, two doubles and two stolen bases. As a fielder, she was third on the team in fielding with a .948 fielding percentage and had 60 putouts. Highlighting her season, English had a career-best 4-for-4 performance in her final game of the season. She also had a career-best five putouts in her third home doubleheader.
Boledovic and English were two of four freshmen, including two of five newcomers, to start this season for a BW team that only had three returning upperclassmen in its three juniors.
