Men's Volleyball Falls to Wittenberg in MCVL Bout

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team was defeated by Wittenberg University by a score of 3-1 in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League match in Pam Evans Smith Arena.

BW Leaders (9-12, 3-1 MCVL)

  • Freshman outside hitter Owen Huynh (Loveland) tallied 12 kills with a .391 hitting percentage and also tied a team-high eight digs
  • Senior All-MCVL setter Brandon Long (Hinckley/Metea Valley [Ill.]) led the Yellow Jackets with 38 assists and also had eight digs
  • Senior All-MCVL outside hitter Michael Beard (Hilliard/Darby) was the kills leader with 13 and added seven digs and three aces
  • Junior All-MCVL right-side hitter Michael Devlin (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) contributed seven kills and four digs 

Wittenberg Leaders (12-8, 4-0 MCVL)

  • Sophomore outside hitter Michael Yurk tallied a game-high 16 kills
  • Senior outside hitter Tom Supan had 10 digs
  • Sophomore setter Sam Richardson led the Tigers with 27 assists

First Set (Wittenberg 25-22)

  • Wittenberg led in kills 14-11
  • Yellow Jackets hit .250
  • Tigers hit .367

Second Set (BW 25-15)

  • Both teams had nine kills
  • Yellow Jackets hit .316
  • Tigers hit .000

Third Set (Wittenberg 25-21)

  • BW led in kills 14-12
  • Yellow Jackets hit .188
  • Tigers hit .458

Fourth Set (Wittenberg 25-21)

  • Wittenberg led in kills 16-9
  • Yellow Jackets hit .065
  • Tigers hit .448
