Men's Soccer Team Falls at Ohio Northern
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team fell by a score of 4-0 at Ohio Northern University this afternoon (Tuesday, October 14, 2008) in Ada.
 
The Yellow Jackets fall to 11-3 overall and 1-3 in the OAC. Ohio Northern moves to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference. B-W returns to action at Muskingum College on Saturday, October 18 in New Concord.
 
Ohio Northern took a 3-0 lead into halftime by outshooting the Yellow Jackets 10-5. The second half was more of the same as Ohio Northern added another goal and outshot the Yellow Jackets 5-1. Adam Ross led the Polar Bears with his fourth goal of the season to open the game and later assisted a Greg Stawicki goal.
 
B-W was outshot 15-6 while Ohio Northern attempted eight corner kicks compared to none for the Jackets.  
 
In goal, junior Russ Mika (Medina/Senior) recorded five saves and falls to 6-2 on the season. Ohio Northern's Aaron Collins stopped two shots in net for the Polar Bears.
 
After 14 matches in 2008, the Yellow Jackets are led in scoring by freshman forward Carlin Vandendriessche (Medina/ Senior), who has seven goals and a team-high 15 points.  Overall,  four players have recorded double-digit points, including,  sophomore forward Tyler Leister (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) and senior midfielder Andy Synk (Strongsville), who have 12 points each.
