Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach Hartzler Named WBCA Thirty Under 30 Honoree

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball Assistant Coach Cody Hartzler has been named as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 presented by Marriott Rewards® honorees for the 2016-17 season.

The WBCA Thirty Under 30 presented by Marriott Rewards® program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.

"It's humbling to be recognized by my peers in the WBCA as a Thirty Under 30 honoree," said Hartzler. "I've been fortunate to work under several great leaders in my career who have given me a blueprint for success in this profession, none more influential than Coach Harrer. I'm truly blessed."

This marks the second year that the WBCA has honored recipients for the Third Under 30 program. Hartzler, who was nominated for the honor by BW Head Coach Cheri Harrer, recently completed his second season on the Yellow Jacket bench.

"Cody is a bright, hard working young coach," stated Harrer.  "He is totally dedicated to helping our program be the very best it can be in every way. We are excited for him to receive this well-deserved honor."

Hartzler, who is one of just four NCAA Division III coaches to receive this honor, will be attending the WBCA Convention in Dallas, which is held in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four, from March 31-April 2.
