NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Freshman guard Riley Schill (Sheffield Lake/Elyria Catholic) scored a career-high and game-high 16 points to spark the Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team's second half comeback and its Ohio Athletic Conference victory against Muskingum University by a final score of 70-53 on the Performance Court. 

BW (5-0, 2-0 OAC), who scored 48 second half points, had two players score in double figures led by Schill as she scored 13 of her 16 points in the second half.  Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC point guard Mackenzie Colombo (Strasburg) contributed 11 points.  Senior All-OAC forward Clara Lemmon (Canton/Louisville) grabbed a game-high tying eight rebounds.  The Yellow Jackets have now won 15 straight games and 16 of the last 17 meetings against Muskingum (3-3, 2-1 OAC) 

The Fighting Muskies had two players score in double digits led by Dana Parkman as she scored 11 points.  Stephanie Clark chipped in 10 points and grabbed a game-high tying eight rebounds. 

In the first quarter, Muskingum jumped out to a 5-0 lead and led 11-4 after the opening period.  BW got a jumper from sophomore forward Rachel Womeldorf (Lewis Center/Olentangy) and a pair of free throws from senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC forward Sydney Clark (Parma/Lake Ridge Academy).  The Yellow Jackets shot just 1-of-16 from the field and 0-of-9 from three-point land in the first stanza.

The Fighting Muskies started the second quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 19-6 lead when Josie Payton converted only one of three free throws at the 7:31 mark.  BW responded with a 12-2 run to cut the lead down to 23-18 on a three-pointer by Schill at 3:37.   Muskingum closed out the first half on a 7-4 run and lead 30-22 at the intermission.

The Fighting Muskies came out in the third quarter on an 8-3 run to take a 38-25 advantage on a jumper by Olivia Besancon at the 6:40 mark.  The Yellow Jackets outscored Muskingum 25-5 down the stretch and took a 47-42 lead when Clark hit a jumper with 41 seconds remaining.

BW opened the final quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 59-44 lead on a trey from sophomore guard Hannah Fecht (Hilliard/Davidson) at the 5:25 mark.    The Yellow Jackets outscored the Fighting Muskies 11-9 the remainder of the game.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, December 13 when it remains on the road as it travels to Tiffin for an OAC game against Heidelberg University in Seiberling Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets close out their six-game road swing on Saturday, December 17 when they travel to Bexley for an OAC clash against Capital University in the Capital Center at 3 p.m.
