ATLANTA, Ga. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team has been honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as an Academic Top 25 Honor Roll team. 

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2016-17 season is the 22nd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

BW, who was the lone Ohio Athletic Conference team to be honored, finished the 2016-17 academic year with a team grade point average of 3.544.   

"We are incredibly proud of the effort our team put into their academic work," statedVeteran Head Coach Cheri Harrer. "We are especially proud because many of our student-athletes are in very challenging majors. They are a very hard working group and it's nice to see them earn recognition for it." 

BW finished the 2016-17 campaign with an overall record of 21-5 and second place finish in the OAC standings with a mark of 14-4.   The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the fourth straight season.
