Three Women’s Basketball Players Garner All-OAC Accolades

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Three Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

Senior Academic All-OAC forward Sydney Clark (Parma/Lake Ridge Academy) and senior Academic All-OAC point guard Mackenzie Colombo (Strasburg) were selected to the first-team. Sophomore guard Hannah Fecht (Hilliard/Davidson) was tabbed an honorable mention.

Clark, who was a second-team selection the past two seasons, had her best season as a collegian this year as she led the team with a career-best 37 blocks, was second in scoring with a career-best 11.0 points-per game and was third in rebounding with a career-best 4.9 rebounds-per-contest. Clark also recorded 51 assists and made 30 steals. For her career, Clark scored 868 points, grabbed 400 rebounds, dished out 151 assists, made 105 steals and had 96 blocks. Off the court, she is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Digital Marketing Clinic and the Center for Innovation and Growth.

Colombo, who was a second-team selection last year, had her finest season as a Yellow Jacket as she led the team in scoring with a career-best 12.2 points-per-game and in assists with a career-best 93. She also had a career-best five blocks and grabbed 55 rebounds. For her career, Colombo ranks 10th all-time in school history with 281 assists and 142 steals. She scored 866 points, grabbed 229 rebounds and had 19 blocks. Off the court, Colombo is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar and is a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Fecht, who earns her first All-OAC accolade, had a career-year as she was second on the team with a career-best 5.6 rebounds-per-contest and third in scoring with a career-best 9.7 points-per-game. She also led the team in three-point field goals made with 59 and in three-point field goal percentage at .454. Fecht also dished out a career-best 33 assists, made a career-best 22 steals and had a career-best 13 block. For her career, Fecht has scored 423 points, grabbed 200 rebounds, knocked down 96 three-pointers, dished out 63 assists, made 41 steals, has 21 blocks.

BW finished the 2016-17 campaign with an overall record of 21-5 and second place finish in the OAC standings with a mark of 14-4. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the fourth straight season.
