Colombo Earns First Career OAC Women’s Basketball Player of Week Honor

UNIONTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC point guard Mackenzie Colombo (Strasburg) has been selected as the OAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in her career. 

Colombo earns her first accolade after helping the Yellow Jackets to two OAC road victories last week as the team improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the OAC.   She averaged 15.0 points per game, 2.0 rebounds per contest and 2.5 assists per game in the two victories. 

Colombo scored a career-high 25 points and dished out a game-high four assists in a 64-59 victory at Heidelberg University last Tuesday.   She then scored 10 points and dished out one assist in a 51-40 victory at Capital University on Saturday afternoon. 

This season, Colombo is averaging a career-best 10.3 points per game and grabs a career-high tying 2.6 rebounds per contest.   She leads the team in assists with 25 and is second in points with 74 and steals with 13.

Colombo has started and appeared in 93 career games.   She averages 6.7 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per contest.   Colombo has dished out 215 assists with 110 steals and 13 blocks.   She is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection and was second-team All-OAC selection and All-OAC Tournament team selection as a junior.
