BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Women's Basketball Head Coach and Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Cheri Harrer will be one of 12 featured speakers at the USA Basketball Coach Academy – Presented by Nike, on August 4-6 at St. Edward High School.

Coach academies provide valuable insight and education to coaches and administrators of basketball. Academy sessions impart the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to players of all ages and ability levels. Additionally, guest speakers deliver on and off court sessions on basketball and leadership topics.

Harrer, who is the lone Division III representative, will present her topic of Drills to Develop Teamwork and Toughness on Saturday, August 5 from 4:45-5:30 p.m.   

She joins USA Basketball coach development director and an eight-time USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year Don Showalter, Cleveland Cavaliers Assistant General Manager and Pro Personnel Koby Altman, Youngstown State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Jerrod Calhoun, Duquesne University Head Men's Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot, Cleveland State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Dennis Felton, St. Edward Boys' Basketball Head Coach and gold-medal winning USA Basketball U16 and U17 assistant coach Eric Flannery,  The Ohio State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Chris Holtmann, Michigan State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Izzo, CBS Sports college basketball analyst  Clark Kellogg, Illinois Coal Miners Owner, General Manager and Head Coach John Spezia and Dave Lower of Athletes in Action as the highlighted presenters.

Coming off her 27th season in Berea, Harrer ranks as the second winningest women's coach in Ohio Athletic Conference basketball history and has amassed a career record of 549-202 and a .731 winning percentage.  She has guided the Yellow Jackets to 25 straight winning seasons, 13 NCAA Division III national tournament appearances, eight OAC regular season titles, six OAC Tournament championships, five "Sweet 16" appearances and four "Elite 8" on appearances.   Harrer has led her teams to 24 straight seasons of 15 or more wins and 15 seasons with 20 or more victories.  She coached the 1999-2000 squad to a school-record 28 victories and an overall mark of 28-2.

In addition to her coaching duties, Harrer serves as the Senior Women's Administrator and is an associate professor in the Division of Health and Physical Education. She was inducted into the Crawford County Hall of Fame in 2014.
