MARIETTA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team was defeated by Marietta College by a score of 100-91 in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in the Ban Johnson Arena.

BW (9-10, 4-8 OAC) had four players score in double figures led by junior All-OAC forward Jake Fetherolf (Norwalk) with 20 points.  Sophomore Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) added 15 points, while senior forward Mike Kaminski (Medina) contributed 14 points on 4-6 shooting from three point range and freshman guard Michael Quiring (Brunswick) contributed a career-high 16 points to add onto a career-high tying seven assists.

Marietta (15-4, 10-2 OAC) was led by five players scoring in double figures.  Senior forward A.J. Edwards led all scorers with 26 points to go along with a game high 10 rebounds.  Junior guard Dillon Young contributed 15 points, while sophomore guards Anthony Wallace and Kyle Dixon added 20 and 17 points respectively.  Senior guard RaNeal Ewing chipped in 11 points to lead the Pioneer bench.

The first half belonged to the Pioneers as they held the lead for 18 of the 20 minutes.  BW would tie up the game 21-21 after a layup by Quiring at the 10:53 mark.  This was as close as BW would get for the rest of the half as a layup by Wallace would give Marietta their largest lead of the half 42-32 at the 1:55 mark.  The basket was one of many for Wallace in the first half as he led all scorers with 15 points at the intermission.  Marietta would hold onto their lead entering the break 47-37 on the Yellow Jackets. BW was highlighted with 24 bench points in the first half led by Quiring with six points and five assists.

In the second half, the Pioneers garnered their largest lead of the game 82-67 after a pair of free throws from Young at the 7:29 mark.  The Yellow Jackets came storming back with a 13-2 run of their own to close the Pioneer lead to 84-80 as Battle sunk three free throws after a pump fake three drew contact.  A deep three pointer at the top of the arc from Young would extend the Pioneer lead to 96-88 at the 1:16 mark; however, a quick three pointer from Kaminski would cut the lead to five with a minute left to play.  Late game free throws from the Pioneers would seal the victory 100-91 after a hard fought game from the Yellow Jackets.

BW will be back in action on Wednesday, February 1 when it hosts Ohio Northern University for an OAC game in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7 p.m.
