Men’s Basketball Wins Regular Season Finale at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball defeated Wilmington College by a score of 90-67 in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in Fred Raizk Arena.

BW (13-12, 8-10 OAC) will enter next week's OAC Tournament as the sixth-seed and will travel to Ada for a quarterfinal game  against Ohio Northern University on Tuesday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets had four players score in double figures led by junior All-OAC guard Cam Kuhn (Vermilion) as he scored a game-high 17 points. Junior forward Mike Kaminski (Medina) added 15 points, sophomore guard Jay Battle (Gahanna/Lincoln) contributed 13 and senior guard Zack Brandy (Hudson) chipped in 12.

Wilmington (9-16, 4-14 OAC) had two players score in double figures led by senior forward Malcolm Pittman as he scored a team-high 12 points. Sophomore guard Will Patrick contributed 11 points.

In the first half the Quakers took an early 5-2 when sophomore guard Andrew Russell knocked down a three-pointer at the 17:58 mark. Yellow Jackets senior guard Brandy capped off an 18-2 run that give BW a 20-7 lead with 12:26 left in the first. The Quakers went on a short 7-0 run to cut the Yellow Jackets lead to 20-13 when junior guard Jordan Jones made a jumper at the 9:37 mark. BW outscored Wilmington 20-7 in the final nine minutes of the half to take a 50-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets led for the remainder of the game and outscored the Quakers 46-37 in the second half. BW had its largest lead when sophomore guard Kyle Nader (Vermilion) finished a layup at the 4:11 mark to make the score 94-59.
