Today's Game --  The Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jacket football team opens its 2015 OAC schedule at Ohio Northern University in the lone night game for both teams.  Both the Yellow Jackets and Polar Bears played their season openers last Saturday with a pair of non-conference games.

Series Notes --  The Yellow Jackets and Polar Bears have met 40 times on the gridiron with BW leading the all-time series, 27-12-1. Last season, Ohio Northern snapped a three-game BW winning streak with a 37-35 victory in Ada.

Last Meeting -- The last time BW and Ohio Northern met on September 20, 2014,  the Polar Bears defeated the Yellow Jackets by a final score of 37-35 to snap a three-game losing skid. BW led 14-0 after one quarter and 28-14 at halftime. In the third stanza, Ohio Northern cut the lead to 28-17. The Polar Bears outscored the Yellow Jackets 20-7 in the fourth quarter, including scoring the game winning touchdown and two-point conversion with nine seconds remaining. Ohio Northern outgained BW, 454-437, including gaining 269 yards through the air.  The Yellow Jackets controlled the ground attack as it gained 216 yards rushing.

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
In week one of the season BW scored 26 points on 225 passing yards, 203 rushing yards, and 428 total yards. Bluffton scored 38 points on 264 passing yards, 196 rushing yards, and 460 total yards.

Yellow Jackets Statistical Leaders

Offensively, BW was led by Tyler Moeglin (Canton / Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) who accounted for 341 all-purpose yards as he completed 19 of 29 passes for 225 yards .  Moegilin also ran for an additional 116 yards on 20 carries with   three touchdowns. Senior wide reciever Tyler Wolf (Fremont/Ross) had six catches for 138 yards.

Defensively, sophomore outside linebacker Sam Groff (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) had a team-high 10 tackles. Junior free safety Brock Hull (Youngstown/Boardman) had nine and had his first career interception. Junior defensive end Andy Schultz (North Royalton) had seven tackles, including two sacks.

Scouting the Polar Bears
In week one of the season, Ohio Northern scored 29 points on 439 yards passing, 92 rushing yards and 531 total yards. Utica (N.Y.) College scored 22 points on 300 yards passing, 31 rushing yards, and 331 total yards.

Polar Bears Statistical Leaders
Offensivley, the Polar Bears were led by Freed who completed 27 of 36 passes for 439 yards and three TD's. Freed's top receivers were Devon Price with 10 catches for 141 yards and junior Reed Allen who caught six passes for 100 yards and two TD's.

Defensively, sophomore MLB Zach Schmerge had a game-high 16 tackles and senior OLB Trent Stout had nine.
