Schultz Garners First Career OAC Football Defensive Weekly Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior defensive lineman Andy Schultz (North Royalton) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Schultz, who garners his first career OAC weekly accolade, recorded career-high 11 tackles, including two for loss, forced one fumble and recovered his first career fumble as BW won its fifth straight game with a 56-20 victory against Capital University last Saturday. He left the game in the third quarter with BW leading 49-6.

This season, Schultz has appeared in and started all eight games.  He is seventh on the team with a career-best 40 tackles, including a career-high 16 solo stops.   Schultz leads the team with a career-best four and a half sacks and forced fumbles with a career-high two.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 7 when they travels to Alliance for an OAC game against number one nationally ranked the University of Mount Union in Mount Union Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
