Murphy Awarded Third Weekly OAC Runner of the Week Honor This Season

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the third time this season and in her career, Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been selected as the OAC Runner of the Week. 

Murphy earns the weekly honor after finishing first out of 281 runners at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College on the Oberlin College Cross Country Course to help BW to an 14th place out of 32  teams. She crossed the finish line in a 6k time of 21:54.5. This is Murphy's fourth season invitational win. 

This season, she has won four out of the five races that she has competed in. Murphy has a season-best 5k time of 18:06.9 and a 6k time of 22:58.8.

For her career, Murphy is the 2021 OAC Cross Country Runner of the Year as well as the 2022 OAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Distance Runner of the Year and a 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field All-American. She has a career-best 5k time of 18:06.9 and a 6k time of 22:12.5

Off the course, Murphy is a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The Yellow Jackets will return to the course on Saturday, October 29th when they travel to New Concord to compete in the OAC Championships on the Moorehead Farm.
